More lever movement don't mean worse brakes!! I have just bought a Brembo RCS. I am told it has a longer travel when set to 19 x 18 than it does on 19 x 20. Difference is the 20 setting makes the brakes a little wooden. Not tried it yet so can't make my own comment. I would sooner have a little lever movement and great brakes. Reckon you were spoilt on the 6RR. I rember the brakes on my B1, were pretty good...to start with.
