hi GF
so you have installed the Ivans kits on zx7r's? or other bikes, that is a question
well okay and as I said before maybe someone has installed the Ivans kit and it worked, great, however it did not work for me and when I called Ivans about the kit and wanted to asked questions about fuel control and the issues I was having with factory jetting and the LM1 reading I was seeing, the secretary, spoke with someone standing nearby who just said *It will make more power*, so I then asked about using the LM1 and she repeated from the person standing nearby, "oh its carburated and the readings are gonna be all over the place,"and would not speak to me, so wheres the love :), there are only so many adjustments *needle clip location, fuel level, jet sizes, you can make to carbs,* and with a LM1 handy and installed, I went with the results, also Ivans website still does not have a dyno chart for the zx7r kit, and I have a complete ivans kit for the zx7r available, what they sell to the public and I will send it to you or any one else who may want it for $100.00, or make me an offer, lets see an offer of some cash and I will send it to you. Want it on ebay, just ask.
You see there is a lean spike about 9500 rpms that I was hoping to correct with the jet kit,, so solly, but after speaking with a few engineers, and sharing the log files recorded with the LM1 kit, not gonna happen. That spike is resonance related and there is not a chance in H*ll a carb jet kit is gonna affect that. Nature of the beast so to speak, related to carb size, intake length, piston stroke and bore, cam timing, exhaust efficiency, air filter housing and filter, barometric pressure, what size jeans you have on today. Its all related which is why some bike makers are putting the valves in the exhaust system to alter the flow through the engine. which bike buyers promptly remove or disable :) ain't it a great world!

I am adding two jpg's of LM1 readings, kitride2.jpg and 2shims.jpg, the kitride2 shows results of Ivans kit, with fuel level dropped 2mm, after the horrible first ride at factory fuel level as recommended, was it drivable, yes it was (and it ran great) till I went full throttle, look at the AFR around 9500rpm, thats when it detonated which is near 14to1 AFR, which could be heard and felt, the 2shims.jpg is all original settings with only 1 shim under cyl 1 and 4 needles, less than .5 difference in AFR and yet it runs so much better and the AFR in the 9500rpm range never gets above 13.5to1
