Cbr1000rr Recall Notice
I realize that we're a Kawi forum... but as stated a few times over... we all share a common interest in riding, and don't want to see anyone get injured.
Please note the following recall notice and pass on to all your friends (although how great of a friend can they really be if they ride a Honda?).
Heads up to CBR1000 owners.
From this months issue of Cycle World:
NHTSA Recall No. 07V576000 Honda CBR1000RR
Model years: 2006 - 07
Problem: These motorcycles have an improperly welded vent pipe in the bottom of the gas tank. Due to vibration, these welds may crack and allow fuel to drip. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source can result in a fire.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the gas tank. Owners not receiving this free remedy should contact Honda at 866-784-1870.
NHTSA is a U.S. organization, but I assume the recall would also apply to Canadian models, so any owners may want to follow up with your dealer.
