Any shop that uses a no contact tire machine (pretty much ANY reputable shop!!) can change tires on these wheels. They are actually stronger than steel, but I wouldn't wrench a set of tire irons across the lip...

As for the differences, it is kind of hard to explain what it is like. It is so easy to change direction because there is less gyroscopic effect...
I don't know if you have the glued down puck lane dividers on your freeways like we do in California, but when you ride over one, the wheel actually follows the shape of it: up, over, and down. A standard wheel just plows over it without articulating the suspension.

As for the weight of them, they are ridiculously light. If you are truly interested, I'll take them to UPS and weigh them on their scale. They are NOTHING like stock.
I found a reference on a Dymag page to quote:
• Typical front wheels weight: 1.4 kg without hub-bearing assembly, 2.2 kg fully assembled
If a kg is 2.2lbs, that means the front is about 5lbs with bearings!! The rear is similarly light respectively.

And yes, the price is $1500 for both wheels, the cush drive, and a very lightly used rear 520 rear sprocket w/ tooth.

Let me know if you have any other questions,
Jay.
