Grab Strap - Safety

Riding two up - wife is 63 kilos, I am 104 (or so, pending my beer intake) and she is a real good pillion rider. Fearless in her confidence with me whatever the speed of travel, we rub boot toes on road and get it on exiting the long curves: as an experienced passenger she ask for one thing. A GRAB STRAP ! Like we have on our other ride, a Harley FXSTC softail custom, a different species of bike but very fast and powerful in a different config - we have a strong leather strap over the seat, bolted to the frame underneath, and it keeps her ass on the seat when we know a bump is coming - or hard braking where the passenger is just going to go airborne - and holding on around your waist is warm and sexy it don't keep her ass on the bike, when we want to downshift after the 'event' and accelarate again. Recommendation: build a 1inch wide nylon strap, cover it with leather, use self tapping screws or existing bolts under the seat for attachemnt, and give her something right between her legs to hold on to firmly.
We use "telltales" the car, truck or bike way ahead of you hits a bump you can see it, and prepare !! She just latch onto the grab strap, put weight on the footpegs and ride it out. The bike is stable, the suspension is suberb.
OK? just a tip from a old rider on a new bike. And sure am enjoying learning to ride the GTR1400, what a sweet machine !!
